What do you do when you don't want to do anything?

I'm just gonna call it now and say this is my workout summary for July:

02: Jackie Warner 30 Day Fast Start Pyramid Training
03: Yoga @ Baila Fitness
08: Crunch Yoga Body Sculpt
10: PYL Pilates
15: Jackie Warner One On One Training - LB
16: Jackie Warner One On One Training  - UB
23: PYL Pilates
That's just really embarrassing. And I have no good excuse for it. I'd like to say I've been so busy doing stuff outdoors that I haven't had time for formal workouts...I'd like to say that.
The truth is I've been tired a lot. Really busy at work at getting home later than usual a lot of days. Easily distracted and side-tracked. Just generally not in the mood, I guess. I was actually in a bit of a funk for a while there. I just wanted to come home and curl up in a corner of the living room with a book. The worst of that is over, thank goodness.
I am on vacation this week. Yay!
I'm still tired. A couple of weeks ago I almost booked another doctor's appointment, thinking maybe I should get my iron levels checked again. Then I decided this doesn't feel quite the same, so I didn't. I suppose I should anyway. I think some of it may be the weather. We've been getting some sun, but still a lot of rain. I'm feeling sympathy for my tomato plants - enough sun to get by, but going a little yellow around the edges from all the rain.
Actually though, this week has been decent. We've had a couple of days of rain, but the past couple of days have been sunny. I have been slowly puttering away at a few things I've been wanting to get done around the house, but not working too hard at anything. We will be taking off for a few days to visit family, so that will be nice.
This is probably reading like a bit of a downer, which I don't mean it to be. It's nice to have a bit of time to take it easy; I think it's probably what I needed. It won't be enough time - it never is - but hopefully some vacation time will leave me feeling better.
Some things that do lift my spirits...
A bucket of basil - we had pesto! My first real harvest from my poor little garden this year. And garlic scapes; they are huge and I am looking forward to digging up the garlic.

What I see when I look down from our deck - Tomatoes growing along side my Police Box.

Baby deer!

I figured out the spot to photograph our humming birds.

First woodpecker sighting of the summer! Actually saw him through our living room window as he was checking out our bird feeders, then was able to sneak out the back door and catch him in the tree.

Husband and I were actually talking about retirement while making dinner tonight, can't really remember how the subject came up. Anyway, we were talking about where we would want to be, and my fondest wish is to be in the  country. But, I have to admit, we have it pretty good where we are right now. We have the convenience of the city, I'm only a 10 minute drive from the office, but these are all scenes from my yard. It's really not too shabby (minus Zappa running to meet me with a mortally wounded snake hanging from his mouth tonight; that I could have done without. Okay, it was a little funny, he looked so pleased. But I'm sad that he killed [another] snake [I'm assuming, since I found an injured one earlier in the summer which later died in our yard].
Do I know how to end a post, or what?

Allow Me To Distract You With Colorful Photos

Like these....

Or this even...

Don't you just love those shoes? The colors!

I feel like I don't have a lot to say. The past couple of weeks feel like a bit of a blur.

The long weekend, it rained and rained and rained.

Wake me when the sun comes out.

The next week we had gloomy weather up until Thursday, when the sun came out with a vengeance. We had record high temperatures all weekend. It was too hot to move. We sat around and watched a lot of movies.

Wake  me when the sun goes down.

Things have been really busy at work lately, and last week was even busier. I was late getting home every night and mostly I was tired and didn't feel like doing much. So I didn't. I guess I'm giving myself a little time off.

This weekend has been pretty nice. It did get hot, but not as hot as last weekend. I had things that I was hoping to get done, but somehow I just haven't been organized enough, or motivated enough, I guess.

I did discover who is emptying my bird feeder every night though.

Week 25: Let's Talk About Something Else

I could talk about how crappy the weather has been. Again. For the long weekend even. And how I can't believe it's July 1st when it hardly feels like summer has started. Hello? Summer? I'm waiting...

But let's talk about something else.

I had a four day weekend! It was mostly pretty relaxing. I even played a video game, which I rarely do. Made my husband happy. He keeps hoping I'll turn into a gamer. Probably not going to happen. But once in a while I get in the mood to play for a bit. I'm done now.

I went to a yoga class last week! I was trying to go to lunch time yoga for a while it the winter, but it was hard to get there as often as I liked, and they stopped the classes at the end of March which was a little disappointing. The schedule at the fitness studio where I go to Zumba has changed for the summer. There are no TRX classes that are convenient for me at the moment. Zumba has been moved to 6:35 which is a little late, since I don't like to eat before hand. But there's yoga at 5:35 on Monday & Wednesday, which I think might be a nice change for the summer.

Last week - Thursday I think it was - there was a tornado warning, ever so briefly. We never have those around here, and it was downgraded so quickly that I wondered if it was a mistake. Anyway, I took down all the bird feeders - two had been knocked down anyway, not sure what happened, but I figured I'd take them down in case we got a storm. I just put them up again yesterday and things were pretty busy at the feeders this afternoon, including...

Is that not the cutest thing? For some reason I love that  first one, even though you can't see his head. I had great fun watching, he came back about 3 times.

I think this is the biggest squirrel I've ever seen around here. For a few years we had some little ones. They would sit up on the fence and scold us. They disappeared - a lot of cats around here these days, so that could be why. Hope this one stays safe.

And there were birds of course.

The weather actually cleared up this afternoon and we had a bit of sun. The rest of the week is looking iffy.

Almost forgot: June workouts!

Things kind of petered off at the end of the month. Lots of gardening. Then gloomy weather which makes me want to curl up in my comfy chair and stay there.

For July:
I'm hoping to get to yoga at least once a week, twice would be even better.
I'm going to try to be better about tracking food, to see if it makes a difference. I feel like I keep repeating this one, but I also think it needs to be done.

Happy Canada Day!

Seriously cannot believe it is July already.
