In which I refuse to acknowledge snow

I have to say, we've had a pretty decent fall so far. There have been a few stretches of chilly weather, and each time I find myself thinking: This is it! The freeze is setting in! And after a few days of cold it would warm up again. I think we're done for now, though.

It's been getting colder and colder all week. Today, my afternoon stroll was not nearly as enjoyable as it normally is due to the fact that it was -1 degrees and the wind was blowing quite ferociously. Some people thought they were seeing white flake-y things floating through the air, but I definitely did not see any, not even when they landed in my hair.

I quite enjoy my delusions. Please leave me to them.

I did break down and light a fire in the wood stove tonight though. The basement was quite chilly while I was doing my Pilates-Yoga Blend DVD (which is so entertaining when you have cats trying to rub their faces on your toes) and Husband commented that he could feel the cold air coming up the stairs. So it seemed like time.

Now I am getting sleepy, so I think it's time to head off to bed and maybe read for a bit if I can stay awake.

I have not yet had to light the woodstove, but I'm sure that day is not far off. Of course, I need to bring the wood in from outside first.....
Hopefully my flu will be totally gone tomorrow and I can get at some of these chores I've been putting off.
Good for you for ignoring those white flaky things, even the ones in your hair!

Bag Lady - it is pretty chilly here with the wind, and we open the basement window for a short spell when we get home from work so the cats can go out (otherwise we'd have a mutiny on our hands) which lets the cold air in. So fire is getting to be necessary at this point.

MizFit - 60 degrees sounds lovely! When should I be there? ;)

I miss my woodstove! One of the drawbacks of no longer living in a house...

I hate this cold weather. It gets you to the bone, doesn't it?

Sagan - yes, it is pretty unpleasant. The worse part is, I know it is only going to get worse. Is it wrong to be looking forward to spring already?

Brrrr...guess I should stop complaning about the cold here, haven't reach and minus degrees (yet). Have had both kitties sleeping on top of me this past week...problem is, they never want to get UP.

Love wood stoves. I love the snow and love the snow flakes!! It is chilly though to do any kind of workouts outside.

oh i love the first fire of the season, may just have to do that (as soon as i get some wood!)... my cat loves to rub against me when i'm doing yoga/pilates, it's sort of like "since you're down here, please pet me"... :)
